Do you want more Group Travel business?

If time doesn’t already go quickly, all those group travel organisers and operators are just about to start hunting for trips for 2021!  It usually starts with a visit to Excursions Exhibition at Alexandra Palace – taking place on 25 January 2020 – and many of you will be attending.

The organisers and operators will be asking ‘What’s New’ and this can be daunting for attractions who only have the resources to keep going as they are and no investment in the pipeline for infrastructure.

However, if a group hasn’t visited your attraction before then to them its new!  What they are really looking for is somewhere to visit that is geared up for their needs, understands the group travel business, and communicates with them clearly.

Over the years I’ve read hundreds of brochures and leaflets advertising the most fantastic places to visit but too often they are written from the wrong perspective.  They immediately go into great detail about their product, and many do not provide separate information for group travel and just give out their regular ‘free independent traveller’ information.

Remember that the initial contact is with an organiser and operator who, once aware of the theme of the venue, ie stately home, museum, art gallery etc, will be more concerned about the comfort factors to effectively plan a visit into a schedule and too often this information is missing from printed material and websites.

Details of parking and toilet can appear boring compared to the 500 year history of a property, but to ensure inclusion in a busy itinerary, this information is crucial.

There is time to extol the individual virtues and unique features of an attraction once the booking has been made and the organiser/operator needs this information to sell it to the individual bookers of the event – then it is essential to provide details of your USP along with excellent images suitable for both print and online.

If you would like help with a Group Travel review of your print and online copy and some quick fixes to make your attraction a ‘go to’ place for group travel organisers and coach operators – get in touch!
